Organizational Assessment 

Your biggest problem is knowing where it is most critical to place your time and energy. Our approach is designed to help you determine where you are leading and where you are lagging in the development process and, therefore, where you should focus.

Some of the ways we conduct our assessments include:

  • Temperature Test / Interview Process
    We meet with individuals or small groups throughout the organization and have them tell us what they believe is working well and what they feel is getting in the way. Interview notes are compiled in an aggregate report that focuses on the themes we heard without revealing individual identities.

  • Employee Opinion Surveys / system level analysis.
    We distribute, collect and analyze a survey of all employees using online tools, proven research methodologies and statistical analyses. We ensure that the questions yield actionable data.

 

Organizational Design 

As the company grows, it requires regular review of the organizational structure and the key staffing to maximize cost effectiveness, market responsiveness and communications. We present and help you consider various structures consistent with your company’s vision, stage of growth and business model.

Strategic and Operational Planning 

In a healthy, growing company it’s imperative to have a clear vision and well-thought out strategic direction. Using our proprietary program, “Looking for the Sweet Spot”, we work with key leadership to support planning tailored to the stage of the company and the maturity of the market. Then we use the strategic plans as the basis for helping develop the operational plans as needed.

 

Executive Development 

People skills, effective communications, emotional balance and the desire and ability to persuade and motivate are examples of critical effective well-validated executive personality characteristics. Assisting executives and managers in developing their personality strengths and retooling weaknesses to become exemplary in every way is what our Executive Coaching is all about.

We also focus on the “hard” skills of leadership including cost-benefit analysis, financial and market analysis and strategy. We know that a healthy bottom line is the ultimate aim of executive leadership.

 

Executive Team Development 

With over 15 years of experience in off-site (retreat) design and facilitation we are known for providing high value for the time and cost incurred. We understand how precious time is to a growing company and we ensure a balanced, effective, time efficient design.

One deep specialty is Founder Transitions. We work with the founder and the executive team to help ensure success when bringing in the next generation of professional management.

 

Leadership Development  

Building from our library of training modules we have developed over the years, we provide customized leadership development consistent with the philosophy of the key leaders. We rely on a team learning model because we believe the best skill development happens when leaders at all levels share a common understanding, commitment and language for leadership, then support each other in applying them.

One of our most popular models is the Management Forum which brings together cross-functional managers in a learning team. The Management Forum uses case studies developed discretely by the participants so they can solve real situations together while protecting the identities of the individuals.

We also created a “Leadership Card Game” that lets a leadership team quickly pick out their top ten leadership attributes. By sorting over 100 leadership attributes into the top ten and bottom ten for your organization, you can create a powerful communication about your expectations for the leaders in your company.

 

Team Effectiveness and Conflict Management 

The heart of the organization is the teams of people working together to get the job done. We provide assistance to new teams, healthy teams that want to stay that way and teams struggling to get along. We base our work on a bottom line approach. Our measurement of team effectiveness is a combination of 1) getting the job done and 2) people feeling good about being part of it.
